The art house

The Yose Arts House main building

Yose means “all” or “every” in Kinyarwanda, and at Yose Art House, we take this spirit to heart. Our house is a sanctuary for all forms of art, a place where creativity is not locked behind gallery walls but woven into daily life and the fabric of our community. Here, every guest is invited to share in a collective story of making, learning, and belonging. The house is both a living museum and a welcoming home, where art, people and the land come together in a spirit of openness. True to our name, we welcome everyone, building a community where every voice and every form of expression matters.

Our fire

The evening fire is a central element of traditional African living. At the Yose Art House we embrace this tradition. In the evening all guests, staff and artists are welcome at the fire. We occasionally invite traditional or modern musicians and dancers or a storyteller. We serve local craft beer, African tea (a must try!), banana beer (an acquired taste), and snacks like banana bread, local chocolate and fresh pancakes. We can arrange for you to visit the manufacturers of all our products, some of them we have know from childhood.

Lodging

Discover comfort and character at Yose Art House. We offer three unique private rooms, a cosy four-bed dormitory, or camping beneath the stars in our secluded forest with volcano view.

    Wake to tropical birds at your window. This tranquil room features a private bathroom.

    A friendly, mixed dorm for up to four guests, with a shared bathroom.

    Camp in our rainforest-garden with volcano views or park your camper behind our gate. Camping gear available to rent.
